Thanks for the feedback. Alex A thanks for the detailed analysis.

The general feeling is Sun is typically more expensive but if one takes
into account the intangibles associated with Solaris and the fact that you
know it works, it works out well.

Although, Sun seems to have got the message and some of its latest low end
servers are looking quite good. Sun seems to be particularly price
aggressive with its V2X0 and V4X0 range.

Also, read the fine print when it comes to a maintenance contract with the
big vendors : )
