Max Density on L9 Autoloader

Hi,

I have an L9 tape drive. Latest firmware 023B, connected using differential SCSI card to an Ultra 10 running Sol 9, with recommended patch cluster.

I am having problems getting it to run at max density. The max I can get is around 40Gb, sometimes 45Gb but this is just an estimate. I am using DLT IV tapes.
I have tried using /dev/rmt/0ubn and /dev/rmt/0cbn, both are same (supposed to be!)

I have put the correct lines in st.conf and taken them out, no difference.
I cannot see a way to change the compression ratio on the drive other than using /dev/rmt/0[c][u][l][h] identifiers.

What am I missing? I should be able to get ~80 Gb from these tapes, shouldn't I?

Many thanks,
Regards,
Shane
