SunFire V100 LOM password recovery / account removal / reset

How I reset the LOM password or remove configured the LOM user(s) on a
V100 without having root and doing it from the command line and without
any knowing the LOM user(s)' passwords?

While I'm aware of workarounds such as booting from alterate media and
doing it via Solaris, or tracking down the person who set the passwords,
I'd like to know the proper technical procedure.

A quick RTFM[1] was less than enlightening, as were the usual list
archive, SunSolve, Sun Hardware Forums and even Google searches.

In contrast to a disappointingly large number of ungrateful selfish
posters to this list, I will post a summary. [What peeve?]
