Process stack overflow

We had release this weekend. We have a process stack overflow problem. (it
seems the stack is growing untill it reaches the system limit then it dies
(it probably dies because the OS kills it). The developers have looked into
the code and have mentioned there are no memory leaks. so..what could be
the issue? the os is 2.6. Any thoughts?
