My Original Questions :
> Is there somebody using LINUX with SUN E3000, E3500 and SUNFIRE (6800 and 12/15K) server models ?

Summary Considerations:
- You won't find a lot of support for running OS other than Solaris on sparc cpus
- None of the free linux/BSD distributions can handle SMP as well as solaris
- There isn't a good reason to run linux in these boxes
