Shame on me, i should have read the FAQ more throughly.
Caspar Dik send me these:
The solaris FAQ says:
5.71) My dial-on-demand link keeps dialing out, seems DNS related.
The nscd (name service cache daemon) tries to keep a hotlist of
hosts; these hosts are refreshed regularly so they won't get removed
from the cache. This feature should be disabled on systems with
dial-on-demand links. Edit /etc/nscd.conf and make the hot-count line
for hosts read like this:
keep-hot-count hosts 0

Betreff: Nameserver Acess
Hi Managers,
I set up a Blade100 (Solaris 9) at home and configured a dial up for remote
acess to my company via an ISDN Router. The Blade and the router are
connected via Ethernet. Every few minutes the Blade tries to do a DNS
reverse lookup for his own Name, causing a dialup. Does anyone knows why the
Blade is doing this and how to prevent it short of putting a filter on the
router ?
Soeren
