I'm looking into using blades for an application that requires a
webserver, some middle tier software and a single application Oracle
database, as well as having this environment set up in a test
environment (therefore, 6 servers in total).
The blades are very competitive in price with some of Sun's own
hardware (I was looking at a v240 to combine some of the above
functionalities on and get less servers but some more horsepower,
running Oracle on a Sparc IIi/650 does not neccesarily strike me
as a great idea)
Does anybody have any real experience and/or do you run Oracle
on these B100s? Is it by any chance scalable somehow when you run
Oracle on these B100s? I'm not too concerned about the webserver
aspect or the middle tier aspect of this environment.
