Dear gurus,
i want to connect a US Robotic Message Modem connected to my Sun Blade
server.
The problem is that everytime i plug in the modem cable to the serial port
of the server, the server hangs and i can't ping the server.
The server also doesn't have a moniter so if i then hook up my laptop using
hyperterminal software, i will get to the OK prompt, and if i type
"go"...then the server is able to ping again and the modem works fine. its
able to dial in properlly.
I don't know why such a problem is caused when i plug in the modem cable and
sometimes the server hangs randomly and i have to use the hyperterminal
software and go throught these steps again. after that, it OK again.
Please help as to find out whats causing this problem i am not much of a
solaris expert.
