hello all,
i have problem with sunray 2.0 software and Solaris 8/9 and i am out of
ideas
how to solve it. my situation is very urgent since we are in the process of
implementing a new system based on sunray terminals :(
i was running sunray server software 1.3 on solaris 8 for more than a year
with no problems (who said - don't touch it if it is working :P). then i
decided
to upgrade to the new sunray 2.0 software. on a freshly installed system
with
Solaris 8 (last patches for the OS and the sunray software, newest sunray
firmware) and Sunray 2.0 after some time of inactivity the chooser screen
would display all the available servers but when i click on a server i get
the gray screen with the X pointer for few seconds or minutes some times
and then the chooser screen returns thus preventing me to login the desired
server.
two days ago i decided to try with Solaris 9. i did a clean install of
Solaris 9 08_03, installed all the latest patch clusters, Sunray 2.0 + patch
114880-01 - same problem :(
since my server is headless and does not have a video card installed i have
changed the /etc/dt/config/Xservers.SUNWut.prototype file not to start Xsun
on the local DISPLAY:0 however i still get these annoyng messages in
/var/dt/Xerrors about
DPMSSupported: No such device
Can't control power levels
DPMSSupported: Invalid argument
Frame Buffer 0 does not support DPMS
and this
Frame Buffer 0 does not support DPMSAUDIT: Sat Nov 1 16:47:17 2003: 7148
Xsun: client 2 rejected from local host

Power management problems
is there a way to get rid of these ???
