Original Question:
How can I get a Realtek chib based ethernet card working in a Ultra
System running Solaris 9?
Answer :
Well.
Nobody but the Author of the rf driver came with a solution (compile the
driver with gcc-3.x)
After getting the driver from
http://homepage2.nifty.com/mrym3/taiyodo/eng/
And installing a fresch copy of gcc, the module works and now I can have
as many cheap ethernet cards as my PCI bus count allows me:
bash-2.05# ifconfig -a
hme0: flags=1004843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,DHCP,IPv4> mtu 1500
index 1
inet 192.168.5.103 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.5.255
ether 8:0:20:b0:f9:94
lo0: flags=1000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 8232 index 2
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
rf0: flags=1000842<BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 3
inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0
ether 0:e0:7d:f6:11:7f
rf1: flags=1000842<BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 4
inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0
ether 0:e0:7d:f6:11:75
Regards...
