Hello all,
It seems as if my system is on a roll here. I got an I/O error on the
/export/home file system
I did an fsck and the resulting output was as follows:

root@biotools # fsck -y /dev/dsk/c3t5d0s2
** /dev/dsk/c3t5d0s2
CANNOT READ: BLK 16
CONTINUE? yes

THE FOLLOWING SECTORS COULD NOT BE READ:

CANNOT READ: BLK 16
CONTINUE? yes

THE FOLLOWING SECTORS COULD NOT BE READ:
BAD SUPER BLOCK: MAGIC NUMBER WRONG
USE AN ALTERNATE SUPER-BLOCK TO SUPPLY NEEDED INFORMATION;
eg. fsck [-F ufs] -o b=# [special ...]
where # is the alternate super block. SEE fsck_ufs(1M).

So I read the fsck_ufs manual, however, it says that there may be loss of
data while repairing inconsistencies.

What would the wise ones advise me to do? I do not know when the last
sys-admin took a back-up.
I tried doing a simple mount but it returns with an I/O error. This is in a
raid5 array. If there was a faulty disk wouldn't the hot spare take over
immediately? Also I cannot see any amber lights on this array, so the drive
did not "fail" and therefore the hot spare did not take over (?).

Thanks for your input
VS
