Hello.
I have a problem with trying to configure a second interface on a Solaris box. I want to dedicate a second interface solely for backing the server up.
I have added a host route for the backup server to use that interface.
i.e. route add backup_server 2nd_nic
but every time I do a traceroute to the backup server destination I get the following:
traceroute: Warning: Multiple Interfaces found; using backup_server @ hme1
traceroute to backup_server, 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
1 backup_server 0.384 ms !H 0.222 ms !H 0.133 ms !H
It seems to going back to itself instead of routing to the destination. I have tried setting the server up for routing but I think I must be doing something wrongly. I am also unsure as to what the !H means.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
