We've got an A1000 and a D1000. I've setup the A1000 to do hardware RAID
5 across all 12 disks. I've done software RAID across all 12 disks in the
D1000, creating a metadevice, D50.
I want to now concatenate the 2, to have a huge filesystem, with the Hardware
RAID used first. I made a D40 out of the c3t8d0s0 which is the huge A1000's
hardware RAID disk, so it's now a metadevice so I can add it to mirrors and
concats. When I try and make a D60 that contains D40 and D50, I get:
bash-2.05# metainit d60 2 1 d40 1 d50
metainit: batoni: d40: is a metadevice
Which is, quite obviously, correct. Normally with mirrors you have
metadevices, which you add into the main mirror, can you not do this with
concats? If not, how do I make the D1000 and A1000 into one big filesystem?
Cheers,
Gavin.
