Hi,
Recently our oracle database server is running out of cpu capacity and is
hitting very high system load. Currently this system is running 12 900Mhz cpu
(maximum for SF 4800). I wonder if replacing some of 900MHZ with 1.2GB would
help to provide more cpu power. I understand SUN Fire will support mix cpu.
But I would like to know if anyone is running mix cpu configuration.
The rumor is that the system will actually run at the lowest speed of all
cpus. To take full advantage of higher cpu speed, one has to run all cpu at
the same speed. I wonder if anyone has real world experience.
