Boot single from network

Hi Admins,

I've got a machine with no cdrom driver inside. I've lost the root
passwd and would like to boot it from network in a single user mode to
make changes in the /etc/passwd file.

How can I do it, is there anything similar and efficient on the network
to "boot cdrom -s"?
