Emulex LP9002-LE HBA Driver Instance

Hello:
After some recent Solaris 9 installs, I've noticed that the
instance number(s) on HBA's sometime's change (lpfc0 becomes lpfc1,
etc.). I haven't done enough installs/upgrades to know if this is a
function of:
- Solaris 9,
- booting with reconfigure, or,
- installing a new version of the driver. [These boxes are attached to
EMC CLARiiON CX600(s).] It is a pain because other configuration files
use the device name/instance number. It would also be nice to be
consistent across all boxes (if one HBA: it is always lpfc0, if two:
lpfc0 and lpfc1). I think that the process would be to modify
path_to_inst (delete the lpfc entries?) when this situation crops up.
If anyone has a (safe) procedure/comments for doing so or a different
approach, I'd very happy to summarize.

Thanks
Dave
