I have been busy this week, new implementation of a switch on a sun server so
all sort of problems are cropping up. Anyway the new one is I cannot seem to
get the software to connect to the hsm. The setup is as follows, i have two
ports, ttya and ttyb. I suspect that ttya is reserved for the lights out
management so i have to use ttyb. ttyb is a 9 pin serial port. On my hsm is
a 25 pin female. I have a straight cable that i connect to the hsm's console
port. it is a 25pin on one end and 9 pin to go into a pc com1. what i do is I
use the same calble to connect the system to my host. This fails. The hsm is
armed and when tested on a backup server with 25 pins ttya and b it worked. I
have tried to mirror the settings of the backup in eeprom and admintool and
nothing works. Can Anyone think of anything that may help. This is a thales
HSM.
