Greetings,
I was trying to run a tar command!!! on a 25G tar file
[source-directory]# tar xvf file.tar /path_to_destination
that didn't work, it will just hang there.
Then I tried to cd to the destination directory and ran
[destination-directory]# tar xvf /source-directory/file.tar .
and that also didn't work. The tar file was created w/ relative path. Finally
it worked when I moved the tar file to the destination and ran tar locally.
I am running on solaris 8.
