problems with Sun X6758a LVD controller

I've got two nearly identical Ulta-60 systems. The difference is
one has an Antares LVD SCSI controller and the other has a Sun
LVD SCSI controller (X6758a). Both systems see the disks on
their respective LVD controllers when I do a "probe-scsi-all".
The LVD disks connected to the both machines are identical in brand
and size.

Both systems have Solaris 8 2/02, jumbo patch 108528-23 installed.
After a
        touch /reconfigure
        reboot
the system with the Antares LVD SCSI card sees its disks and creates
/dev/dsk links for them. The system with the Sun x6758a LVD SCSI card
does NOT see the disks attached to it.

Has anyone else seen symptoms like this?
