Password Aging

Hi all,

Is there anyway to set passwd aging globally but exclude root and/or other
users? We have MAXWEEKS set in /etc/default/passwd and everytime we change
root passwd it enters aging field in /etc/shadow. If you forget to turn off
aging and it expires the passwd, cron jobs for that user start to fail We will
manually change passwords for security sake but don't want system to
automatically expire logins if we forget to do it by that time frame.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
