Storage solution for file system is EMC Clariion connected via Emulex
9002-L fiber cards -- powerpath is NOT installed

I have NO clue how -- but "randomly" a series of .jar files are
getting corrupted (the cksum changes and jar can no longer unjar the
files) -- in the entire file system, only the .jar files are getting
corrupted -- there are about 10 of them, each about 200 meg -- so a
bunch of other files on the file system that are NOT going 'funky' --

I have changed the permissions on the files to root:root 444 -- and
the files continue to corrupt --

if we move the directory containing the files to /var, and create a
symlink to the directory, the files on /var do NOT corrupt...

the file system IS available to other systems on our network via NFS,
however the NFS permissions do NOT include root permissions out to the
other systems -- also 'anon=-1' has been set

I've JUST changed the NFS file permissions to 'ro' for all systems --

.exe files in the same directory are NOT going bad --

any thoughts/help would be appreciated
