I've been planning SUN LDAP configuration for some time,
when I read on sunsolve that Sun's LDAP server can't be it's own
client. I can't understand why ?
While I still have the option of running LDAP on 2 other servers and
authenticating the mail server connections through these other 2 machines,
I would prefer to have local LDAP authentication on the
mailserver. Is OpenLDAP the only choice for me or is there something
I missed or misunderstood in Sun's documentation.
I suppose that Sun LDAP and OpenLDAP are interoperable, but I'm not sure
if mixing them is a good idea.
Any other suggestions, links etc. will be appreciated. I'm no LDAP guru,
just starting out.
