Hi,
I have an E250 with 2* 18G scsi disks and nothing attached externally. After
resetting the host the message "Boot load failed The file just loaded does
not appear to be executable" appeared. I could still see both disks using
probe-scsi and an analyse read failed to find any problems with the boot
disk. None of the filesystems contain errors according to fsck.

I re-installed the boot block using installboot from the system itself and
got the same problem. I then installed a bootblock using the cd media and
the same happened again.

I then cloned (using ufsdump/restore) each slice of the first disk onto the
second and installed a bootblock on it. When I try to boot from this second
disk I get the same problem.

My question is:

What else apart from having a bad bootblock can cause this error?

Many thanks in advance for your time and efforts.

Andy Crichton.
