DHCP on laptops

Howdy all,

Here is again the same old DHCP implementation in Solaris
Here is the problem I experience

Solaris 8 in Intel 10/01 release
DHCP trows some error messages like "the network interface is in
inappropriate state" early in the setup, can not rename the host to the
DHCP naming convention BUT will assign an IP and mask to the machine
WHat is bothering me is that I can not figure out the steps DHCP client
is taking to setup the connection
I know that S30... in /etc/rcS.d is involved
Can anyone beam some light on this one?

Again the dhcp.netwok_card is set, the /etc/default/dhcp... file is set,
hosts is empty (only the loop back address is present) AND never is
getting populated with the DHCP name, hostname.network_card is empty.

What am I missing?

Thank you in anticipation,
Adrian Saidac
