Command to return amount of free Physical memory?

Hi Everyone,

Once again, I ask of the list a seemingly simple question:

Is there a command that will give me an answer as to how much physical memory
is free??

I know I can use top, but parsing the output is difficult at best. I need this
value for use as
a testing parameter in a script....
