Hi Managers,
I've a wierd issue with NFS on my Solaris 8 box. I've just restarted NFS and
mountd daemon is not starting.
the following are the sequence of commands that I've used.
# /etc/init.d/nfs.server stop
# /etc/init.d/nfs.server start
# ps -ef | grep nfs
daemon 296 1 0 Sep 02 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/nfs/statd
root 295 1 0 Sep 02 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/nfs/lockd
root 22727 1 0 10:04:58 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/nfs/nfsd -a 16
root 22730 22631 0 10:05:01 pts/9 0:00 grep nfs
I dont see any mountd present.
I tried
#rpcinfo -s | grep mountd
rpcinfo: can't contact rpcbind: RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Failed
(unspecified error)
My /var/adm/messages shows
# tail -f /var/adm/messages

I'd appreciate your comments and suggestions in this regard. I'll summarize
