I apologize if this has been seen before, but I can't imagine what I'd
search for to find it...
We have a 250 running 2.6, and the "ls" command is not showing any files or
directories that contain the letter "n". The files are there, you can touch
them, mv them, cat/vi them, cd to them, etc., but when using ls, they just
don't show up. In the example below, the cron, news, snmp etc. directories
and my test junk.tmp are missing from the "ls" output, but show up if I do a
"strings" on the directory file (not all files show up using strings, but at
least it shows some n files that are there).
This is not limited to one filesystem, but occurs system-wide. Uppercase N
shows up fine.
The primary admin is going to boot the system soon, so anyone has ideas as
to why this has happened or what to try looking for, I'd appreciate it
before he hits the button!
Oh yeah...not sure exactly when it started; system's been up this long:
