patch Cluster on 2.6 E250

This weekend I will be installing a second Network card to out main file
server E250, to do this I need to install the latest 2.6_recomended patch
cluster.
When I did a dry on my Ultra5 2.6 box it fried all my Sendmail config.
What is the best way to apply these patches, is there a back out procedure?
and will it bugger my raids arrays.

Any thoughts comments would be great.
