Dear Managers ,

I am trying to add access to 4 StorageTek 9840 tape drive to my SUN E3500
machine via two Emulex LP9002 HBA connected to two McData switch, ( each
two tapes vi different HBA and different fabric )Solaris 8 with the latest
recommended patches is installed as will as the latest Emulex driver and
firmware.
I am sure that Emulex configuration file /kernel/drv/lpfc.conf and tape
configuration file /kernel/drv/st.conf is right.
During the boot process I can see the system acquiring the tapes and
further identifying them and assign an st number to each one of the four
tapes.
The output of iostat En show the four tapes with the same serial number
and the /dev/rmt path for each one but when I try to use or query the
tapes using mt command I get "/dev/rmt/2: No such device or address" on
two tapes that coming from one HBA and I can see and use the other two
that coming from the other HBA.
If I try the command devfsadm I get this error message "krtld: [ID 995402
kern.notice] /kernel/drv/sparcv9/fcsm: undefined symbol
'fc_ulp_get_port_login_params'" , and "fcsm: [ID 517869 kern.warning]
WARNING: fcsm: _init: Transport Layer driver 'fp' load failed" I did
install fcsm patch yet it is the same only two out of four are visible.
I've try every thing from changing the zoning in the switch to changing
the cables and HBA with zero luck !. It is driving me nuts. I've give on
trying and I found nothing like this case on the archive nor the internet
!.
Can some one help ! Please.

Thanks you all.
