Hello Admins,
I have two identical SUN E3500 running Solaris 7.
I have the same swap configuration for both systems, it is on
Section 1 of the root disk.
The section 1 of the root disk has the same length on both systems:
Current partition table (original):
Total disk cylinders available: 7506 + 2 (reserved cylinders)
Part Tag Flag Cylinders Size Blocks
0 root wm 0 - 217 501.57MB (218/0/0) 1027216
1 swap wu 218 - 1739 3.42GB (1522/0/0) 7171664
However, swap l output is different on system1 and system2:
system1:# swap l
swapfile dev swaplo blocks free
/dev/md/dsk/d1 85,1 16 7171648 7003344
system2:# swap l
swapfile dev swaplo blocks free
/dev/md/dsk/d1 85,1 16 4194272 4193968
Also, swap s is different:
system1:# swap s
total: 103768k bytes allocated + 9376k reserved = 113144k used, 6482112k
available
system2:# swap s
total: 1554312k bytes allocated + 76048k reserved = 1630360k used,
3648920k available
Both systems have the same /etc/system kernel configuration file.
Why do I get a different swap configuration for the two systems,
or why the swap command output is different?
Any help will be appreciated.
TIA,
Marco
