hi you all!

i need my sun V880 server be running nicely, but i got some problems...

the software i'm using is not ready for multi-processing, but i was told Sun
One Grid would make it to split the sub-processes of my software in a way
that i can make use of the 8 processors and make the software run faster
(for example, the soft must run in a loop on several sets of data, with GRID i
may be able to make the software run for one set of data in each
processor)...

is GRID a good option? i'm having problems to install it, pkgadd complains,
sometimes it says:

>pkgadd -d SDRMcomm
pkgadd: ERROR: no packages were found in
</users/gace/pere/newsoft/grid/SDRMcomm>

and if i put the package in /var/spool/pkg:

>pkgadd SDRMcomm

Processing package instance <SDRMcomm> from </var/spool/pkg>

Sun Grid Engine - architecture independent files

Where should Sun Grid Engine 5.3 be installed [default /gridware/sge, ? for
help] [?,q]
pkgadd: ERROR: request script did not complete successfully

Installation of <SDRMcomm> failed.
No changes were made to the system.

does it look like a problem of the package or of pkgadd itself?

thanks a bunch!! (i will summarize)
Pere.
