telnet connectivity slow

Dear sirs,
Thanks for the help extended for my previous quiery regarding slow telnet connectivity.
Server=sun solaris 7 sparc 64 bit,
has 3 NFS mounts from 2 servers.
NO DNS OR NIS is configured on this server.One web application is running on this server.

When i telnet immediately get the login prompt and the passwd promt after i enter my user name. The server is taking 2-3 minutes to authenticate my passwd and then i get my $ prompt.
(etc/nssswith.conf file is perfect).

Please suggest me what can be done so that i can get the connection fast.
