Thanks to Ole Morten Xian for his help.
The easy solution is to obtain Solaris 8 2002/12 or 2003/05.
Here is the hard way (not completely tested):
You will need to patch the boot image first; Assuming Solaris 8 2002/02 is
installed in /jumpstart/OS/Solaris_8_2002-02/
patchadd -C /jumpstart/OS/Solaris_8_2002-02/Solaris_8/Tools/Boot <patch
number> using the list below in order. Some of these patches are contract
patches not available to customers w/o sunsolve accounts...
111111-03
112396-02
108987-13
108528-23
111883-18
108974-33
113684-04
113680-03
110460-30
113679-05
113682-02
109889-06
109888-24
113683-02
113681-02
111794-02 (May fail)
112249-04 (May fail)
The above step will work. The following step *should* work. I have never
tried it and I can't promise that it will work or produce a stable system:
After this you will need to write a finish script that will install the same
set of patches to the newly installed server. Use the same order of patch
installation and a patchadd command of:
patchadd -R /a <patch number>
I was you though, I would get a copy of one of the two supported Solaris 8
releases...

-----Ole Morten's Response-----
Hello,
I have jumpstarted 210 and 240 using Solaris 8 05/03 and Solaris 9 04/03, in
both cases no patches were required.
Solaris 8 05/03 is an OEM thing avialable from somewhere under
http://www.sun.com/service/online/

Subject: Problems jumpstarting v210 servers
I am attempting to jumpstart some new V210 servers. I initially had problems
with the boot image not recognizing the system type, I have resolved these
by adding the following patches as per the instructions in patch :
111111-03
112396-02
108987-13
108528-23
111883-18
108974-33
113684-04
113680-03
110460-30
113679-05
113682-02
109889-06
109888-24
113683-02
113681-02
Sunsolve suggested the installation of the two following patches but the
modules they patched were not installed in the boot image.
111794-02 Packages not installed
112249-04 Packages not installed
After jumpstarting the installed system does not boot, however I have not
installed the above patches during my install, they have only been added to
the boot image. I plan to add these patches and the new version of the lom
package: Advanced Lights Out Manager (ALOM) 1.1 [
http://jsecom16a.sun.com/ECom/EComActionServlet?StoreId=8&PartDetailId=ALOM-
1.0-G-F&TransactionId=try&LMLoadBalanced= ].
I wondered if anyone else on the list has installed 210 systems using a
jumpstart server and if they would have any suggestions on patches or
packages I might require.
Thanks for your help,
-JohnF
