Single user mount problems

All

When booting into single user mode from the install CD of Solaris 8 [ok boot
cdrom -s], I get the following error when trying to mount the root file
system to mount points /mnt or /a.

/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 is already mounted, /mnt is busy, or the allowable no. of
mount points has been exceeded.

I've got a Netra X1, and am fairly new to Solaris. Any advice would be
welcomed

Thanks

Richard
