ssh asking for a password, why?

I had a vendor "upfrade" a couple of Solaris boxes yesterday. now whne I
ssh from one of them to the other, I'm prompted for a password. I've run
ssh-keygen on both ends, and copied the *.pub files intot authorized_keys
on teh machine I'm ssh'ing to, and still not luck.
