Veritas Volume Manager: avoiding split /var

Hi!

I've just mirrored a rootdisk and the mirror has a bad layout (IMO).

sd rootmirr-04 var-02 ENABLED 2095101 5739 - - -

(Two volumes are still synching.)

As you can see, the var mirror is split between two subdisks. I will never
be able to boot from this disk without VxVM.

The culprit is the root volume, created with "vxrootmir rootmirr". This will
force the volume to be diskaligned, forcing it to skip the first cylinder.
That first cylinder is then used to build the var volume. Huh?!?

VxVM release is 3.2.

I'm looking for a way to duplicate the layout of the rootdisk

Hints, suggestions, RTFMs, flames?

Thank you all,
Lupe Christoph
