I have an external USRobotics modem (USR5686E) connected to a E250 running
Solaris 8 (2/02), and sometimes I can't have access to the modem using tip.
Tip returns link down, and some online sources mention about rebooting the
server to fix it. It does fix the problem if I reboot the server, but I
would like to know if there is anything that I can do in order to "unlock"
the serial port the modem is connected to. I already searched for lock
files, but I couldn't find any. I also used fuser to get more information,
but it doesn't return anything.
What can I do to reset/unlock the serial port without rebooting the server?
