Hi,

Solaris 8 system, newbie removed the symbolic link for '/bin' which connects
to '/usr/bin'

'root' user shell is /bin/ksh, so 'root' user cannot login.

Machine was rebooted before symbolic link could be recreated, it comes up
into Maintenance mode, but as 'root' doesn't have a shell, so therefore it
will
not start one.

Next step is to load Solaris Installation CD and 'boot cdrom', then preserve
required data......any other options?

Thank you in advance.
Craig.
