Synchronising a number of directories and their contents

Hello,

I'd appreciate some advice on the above topic...OS is Solaris 8.

We've got a main file server which has a large HD containing project and
application data in 2 different partitions. These partitions are NFS shared
to user machines. I am in the process of setting up a second file server
which will mirror the project and application partitions for redundancy. We
will only require the synchronisation to be done once a day. I am aware of
utilities such as Solstice DiskSuite and also rdist but these would seem to
be "overkill" for this application : the ongoing automatic synchronisation
of DiskSuite would not be necessary and writing rdist files etc. also seems
a little over the top... basically all that's required, once the initial
copy is done, is a utility which will just copy files that have been created
or modified since the last copy.... the directories from the primary files
server are NFS shared, as I mentioned earlier, and consequently mounted on
the secondary server so the utility doesn't require any rsh capabilities
etc. such as are available with rdist. What's the best combination of
simplicity and reliability in this scenario?

Any help much appreciated,
Thanks,
John Kelly.
