AMD Automounter woes

Hi sunmanagers,

I have a peculiar problem with automounter which I hope to get some
answers from this list. I will try to explain as best as I can:

There are 2 sun servers, say A and B. Both run solaris 8 with latest
patches installed. Server A is a file server and shares among others, a
directory /userapps/scripts. AMD automounter is used to configure the
shared directories. The remote file system for this shared directory is
/commons/apps/scripts. I need to write a script calling the cwd() function
that will return me the current working directory. This script when run on
the automounted directories on both machines A and B is expected to return
me the same path, that is /commons/apps/scripts. However it is not so. On
machine A it returns the real path /userapps/scripts while on B it returns
the mapped path /commons/apps/scripts. There don;t seem to be any Solaris
command, to my knowledge, that is able to see that /usrapps/scripts is
mapped as /commons/apps/scripts on machine A and so to return the mapped
path. Is there a workaround for this or am I missing something? Thanks in
advance for any timely replies. I will summarize.
