Gurus,

I've just had the strangest problem yesterday.
We have a proxy server (Ultar 10 Solaris 8) with an Apache + RSA Web Agent
and A DNS server (Bind 8.3.1).
The server was not responding and the machine indicated an unusual load
average (>2).

The machine had been up for over 120 days. I decided that a reboot might fix
the problem.

The machine re started with the following message:
The DT Messaging system could not be started To correct the problem :
1. choose (ok) to return to the login screen.
2. Select failsafe session from the login screen's option menu & log in
3. Check to see that the hostname is correct in these locations :
 - /etc/src.sh
 - /etc/hosts
 - /usr/adm/inetd.sec for addtional information see the DT User's guide

I looked at the sunmanagers problems and found these explanations:

I removed a few huge logfiles (from the apache server) and when I rebooted I
had
An other problem.

The /etc/defaultrouter file no longer add the default route to my machine
but
Route add default <IP address> works.

/etc/hosts /etc/nsswich.conf /etc/resolv.conf are all setup properly (well
enough to work
when I installed the machine).

Has anyone had this problem before ?

Thanks in advance for your help.
