vxresize problem

Hi gurus

I am facing the following problem while running the vxresize command on
one of the ufs filesystem , we are using the veritas volume manager 3.2 ,
and suncluster 3.0 , this server is cluster with other server.

vxresize -g arch1_dg arch1 +1g

when i ran the above command i got the following error

vxvm:vxresize: ERROR: vxvm:vxassist: ERROR: Cannot allocate space to grow
volume
 to 49225728 blocks
vxvm:vxresize: ERROR: Problem running vxassist command for volume arch1,
in disk
group arch1_dg

i am having 25gb free space in the diskgroup (arch1_dg )

root # vxassist -g arch1_dg maxsize
Maximum volume size: 53024768 (25891Mb)

please help me in this , thanks in advance , i will summarise
