.profile is not created

Hi,
I've installed Solaris 8 using interactive install on an ANSI terminal
for a Sun E220.
The installation was successful but I login as root and I see that the
following files are not created:
 .profile
.dt
 .dtprofile
.forward
 .histdef
 .netscape
 .profile
 .profile.posse
 .rhosts
.sh_histories
 .sh_history
I'd appreciate if you gurus can tell me why the files have not been
created or if there is something wrong with my installation.
