All,
I'm currently in process of trying out jumpstart (on
an ultra_10 running 2.8 already). The jumpstart
server and the client are on DIFFERENT SUBNETS. I
read in the docs - solaris 9 install guide chapter 26,
you can use "boot cdrom - install nfs..etc" option to
perform jumpstart also.
What I've done so far:
1. create a profile, sysidcfg, rules and rules.ok
(tar'd all files) on the jumpstart server. I didn't
run add_install_client.
2. boot client with:
boot cdrom - install
nfs://ip_of_jumpstart_server/jumpstart/config.tar
What I'm seeing now:
The client boots from cd and spews out:
Downloading config file from
nfs://ip_of_server_A/jumpstart/config.tar
It just sits at this for along time (20-30min) then
spews out:
Downloading failed. Looking for jumpstart.tar
Again it sits there for a long time (20-30min)then it
spews out (scrolled by too quickly):
unable to extract config file nfs failed...blah blah
finally into interactive mode.
What am I doing wron, Can someone help?
TIA
