Hi,

Have just the mailing list and will appreciate all your help.

I have a Sun Enterprise 250 server which I use for our data networks
management system. Due to power failure I had problem with one of the
hard-disk and its file system. Upon rebooting the machine always went on
to Single User Mode and fsck also failed. To get over this problem I ran
the format command and I came up with the fallowing error:

" warning: error writing vtoc
 warning: no backup labels"

I further went on to try an label the disk and this what I did:

Partition> label
Ready to label disk, continue? Y

Warning: /pci@1f, 4000/scsi@3/sd@0,0 (sd0):
Corrupt label - wrong magic number

Warning: error writing VTOC.
Warning: no backup labels
Label failed.
Partition>

I cannot figure out what the actual problem is. Can someone please
assist.

Anand.
