Hello sun managers,

I am getting intermittent permission denied error
when I try to cd to NFS automount directory on the
client. The problem occurs even when I try to cd as
root.

Here is my configuration:

NFS Server:

nfsserver1 [root] # ls -la /share1/VK_opt* | grep
apache
drwxr-xr-x 3 root other 512 May 8 16:56 apache-1.1
drwxr-xr-x 2 root other 512 Jul 14 15:31 apache-1.2

NIS Server auto_opt file:

nisserver1 [root] $ cat /var/yp/etc/auto_opt | grep
apache
apache-1.1 nfsserver1:/share1/VK_opt /&/$OS
apache-1.2 nfsserver1:/share1/VK_opt /&/$OS
nisserver1 [root] $

The problem happen on the client:

client1# cd /opt/apache-1.2
ksh: /opt/apache-1.2: permission denied

At the same time the previously created apache-1.1
automount has no problems:

client1# cd /opt/apache-1.1
client1# ls
CHANGES apache error icons setup tools
README build htdocs servers setup.apache
client1#

Thanks in advance for your help. I will follow up with
summary.

Vince
