Hello,
I have production box E420R running SunOS 5.6 Generic_105181-31 with
direct attached disks from Symmetrix. Problem is, that "vxdisk list"
(VRTSvxvm version 3.2 with latest updates) shows three disks duplicated
and in error state. Like this one :
c1t0d11s2 sliced datadg01 datadg error
c1t0d11s2 sliced - - error
Info for disk says :
bash-2.02# vxdisk list c1t0d11s2
Device: c1t0d11s2
devicetag: c1t0d11
type: sliced
info: privoffset=1
flags: online error private
errno: Duplicate device
Multipathing information:
numpaths: 2
c1t0d11s2 state=enabled
c2t1d11s2 state=enabled
vxprint show no problems. Disks really are running and volumes on these
disks are active. No problems for production processes. Problem only in
"vxdisk list".
We opened call to SUN, but got no proper solution for this problem. So I
want ask two questions :
1. Any advises ?
2. Is it safe to try evacuate this disk to another disk (vxdiskadm
option 7 or /etc/vx/bin/vxevac), reinitialize it and evacuate back while
production is running ? Generally - is it safe to use evacuate on
production system ?
Any comments ? Thank you in advance for your advises !
