Hi all.
I have a Sun Enterprise 450 server, running an upgraded version of Solaris
9. Just within the last few weeks users have not been able to login via the
GUI. Tlenet, rlogin and ssh work fine. But when loggin into the servervia X
I get the "The desktop messaging system could not be started" and am
informed to check the hostname, network, and desktop environments. The
information contained in the /etc/hosts /etc/resolv.conf and files are
correct.
I can not figure out why the server will allow root to login via X but not
any other users. I checked disk palce and we have plenty in /export/home/,
/var, and /.
I posted here because after search the net for 3 days I have not found
anything that has solved the proble. My users need this server up
desparately.
