Hello,

I am having a strange issue with cron, and was wondering if anyone has
scene anything like this:

A user has a crontab file setup to run various nightly jobs. The time in
the file is as follows:

08 20 * * * /foo/somejob
15 20 * * * /foo/somejob2
45 20 * * * /foo/somejob3

This was enabled in cron many months ago, and has been working fine. On
July 2nd we edited the file to comment out one of the jobs. All was fine,
on July 7th we edited the crontab again, uncommented the job, and returned
the crontab to it's original state. Now the job ran on the 8th, and the
9th. After that it hasn't run.(and nothing is in cron's logfile for the
user or commands)

Things I've checked: Cron is running and proccessing other jobs, I checked
this cron's logfile. The user isn't in cron.deny, the account is still there
and active. The machine doesn't appear to have been comprimised. There are
no hidden characters in the crontab.

Another odd thing is today while troubleshooting this the first job listed
in the crontab file, but ran at 18:19:14 which is nowhere near the correct
time.

This is on a Solaris 8 02/02 machine with kernel patch 108528-18. If
anyone has seen this before please let me know.

Regards,

Adam
