I have a Sun E450 with latest patches , Solaris 8
Every so often users report that they can not start a new Xvision session,
using CDE.
However current users are still able to work fine.
doing a ps -ef , shows the parent dtlogin process has died , leaving the child
dtlogin process running.
I had thought the problem was due to bug id 4346072
Even though both patches 108919-18 , 108652-19 have been installed.
This is a application / login server but it is not really under heavy load.
Number of users is approx 20
Some time I can re-start dtlogin
e.g /usr/dt/bin/dtlogin -daemon
Which allows the users to login , other times a reboot seems to be needed.
This is nothing useful in /var/adm/messages or /var/dt/Xerrors
Any suggestions.
